What's planned
A regional surface water attenuation pond (Pond 2A) will be built to collect and manage rainwater runoff across Cherrywood. This is essential infrastructure required by the Cherrywood Planning Scheme to allow homes and buildings to be constructed in the area.
Environment
The pond will temporarily hold surface water during heavy rainfall, reducing flood risk. Water will drain via a swale (shallow channel) and outfall into the Cabinteely River. Access routes will include a new greenway connection from Grande Parade.
Access
The pond will be accessed from Lehaunstown Lane and via the newly constructed Tullyvale Road and Grande Parade. A temporary greenway access route will be created during construction.
